This is a favorite children's series that you or your children may have read when you were growing up. Four titles are available on CDs and a couple remain on cassette tapes.
"After 60 years and millions of books sold, the original Nancy Drew series is now on audio. In this first audio selection, Nancy Drew's keen mind is tested when she searches for a missing will."
The "Secret of the Old Clock" introduces Nancy Drew, an 18 year-old, blond, blue-eyed girl who helps her Dad from time to time with his work as a lawyer. The story begins with Nancy driving home in her new blue convertible after delivering legal papers for her Dad. Suddenly, she sees a young child dart across the street and nearly hit by a moving van. So begins the first in the series of the Nancy Drew Mystery stories.
Historical note: Some believe that Franklin W. Dixon and Carolyn Keene are the pen names for Edward L. Stratemeyer who originally began the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew series. It was said that his daughters updated and continued the series after their father's death in 1930. According to the Toledo Blade, the true author of the first 20-some Nancy Drew titles was Mildred Benson who worked for the Toledo Blade. Interesting history for a great series.
